Certificated Resignation Information

Resignation forms are available on the 15th Floor of the Beaudry Building, or you can download the forms by visiting the HR Forms Library. Completed forms submitted by US mail and should be addressed as follows:

Los Angeles, CA. 90017DEADLINE: Resignations for the current school year must be received by the Certificated Assignments and Support Services office at least 2 calendar months prior to the resignation or no later than June 30 of each year.

I am considering resigning from the District to pursue other options. What if I change my mind?
Posted by:If you were a permanent teacher and return within 39 months of paid service, you will be reinstated to your former status and salary level.

If I resign from the District and then am rehired a year later, do I keep the first seniority date?
Posted by:No. Even though you resigned and returned within 39 months, you do not retain your seniority date. When you reinstate, your new seniority date is your first day of paid service with the District.
