Student Mental Health and Wellness Services is excited to announce a new partnership with Care Solace, a resource to help bridge mental health, substance-use treatment, and basic services such as food and housing for students, families and employees at select schools. Care Solace care coordination is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year by phone or online. As part of a pilot program, this service is now available at all priority, options, and virtual academy schools.

Care Solace is a care coordination company that helps individuals and families find mental health and substance-use treatment services, including local and telehealth options. They offer a matching process that considers factors like age, location, insurance, and preferences, and provide concierge services to help with appointment booking and provider selection.

How does Care Solace match clients to services?
When an individual or family connects with Care Solace through email or phone, they are asked screening questions to help determine their needs. A dedicated Care Companion then starts the search for potential resource matches aligned to the client's needs. Once a list of resources is identified, they will share the information with the client and provide guidance on scheduling a consultation/intake appointment as needed.

What types of services/care can Care Solace connect clients to?
Care Solace can connect individuals and families to essential resources including housing, food, and free or low-cost medical and dental care. They also coordinate care for mental health and substance-use treatment services including: individual therapy, psychiatry, intensive outpatient programs, residential inpatient programs, partial hospitalization programs, medical detox, and intervention services.

Do clients need to have insurance to access Care Solace?
No. When contacting Care Solace, their representatives may ask about insurance status for the purposes of finding the best options available within their coverage. If they do not have any type of public or private coverage, represenatives will identify options that are free or charge on a sliding scale.

Are there age restrictions on who can be served?
No. All students, staff, and family members in selected school communities can access Care Solace care coordination services. Care Solace will work with anyone regardless of age to help them get the mental health care, substance-use treatment, or other services that they need.

What about clients concerned about their immigration status?
Care Solace will not inquire about the documentation status of clients who reach out. Clients have the option to call/search online anonymously if it fits their comfort level.
