    CDE Plan And Site Reviews

    All public school projects, regardless of funding source, must meet the standards described in California Code of Regulations, Title 5 sections 14010 and 14030. These sections describe the standards for ensuring safe and effective school sites and facilities. The CDE evaluates proposed school sites and project designs to determine if projects meet the State's site selection and design standards. As the District's representative to the CDE School Facilities Planning Division, FLGF is responsible for obtaining all CDE site and plan approvals for LAUSD projects.

    If California School Facilities Program (SFP) funds are requested for a project, the CDE must evaluate it for compliance with Title 5 and issue approval letters for those projects that meet California school site and design standards. Since addressing Title 5 requirements gets more difficult as project planning progresses, it is important to incorporate them early in the site selection and design phases of the project. Please contact FLGF as soon as possible if your LAUSD project may need CDE site and/or plan reviews.
