School Improvement Grants (SIG)
School Improvement Grants (SIG), are authorized under Section 1003(g) of Title I, Part A, of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), and provides funding, through state educational agencies (SEAs), to LEAs and independent charter schools that receive Title I funds and have at least one school identified in Tier I, Tier II, or Tier III.
These funds are for identified and approved schools that demonstrate the greatest need and the strongest commitment to use the funds. These sub-grants are intended to provide adequate resources in order to substantially raise the achievement of students to enable the schools to make adequate yearly progress (AYP) and exit improvement status. For more information on the SIG in California, please refer to the CDE website.
For the 2019-20 school year, the LAUSD School Improvement Grant office is moving in to it's fourth year of the grant for cohort 4. You can see the list of cohort 4 schools by clicking on the Cohorts button above. You can also view previous SIG schools by clicking on the map. The SIG Unit is committed to supporting our schools in reaching their academic performance targets as outlined in their Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) and SIG Implementation Plan. If you need additional information or assistance, please contact our office using the "About Us" tab at the top.
