Rooted in Resilience Presentations (Virtual & In-Person)
Political elections often bring about potential changes that may raise feelings of uncertainty, concern, fear, anger, and sadness for many students and families. This presentation will offer parents and caregivers strategies and resources to support their well-being in this post-election climate, and foster resilience in unpredictable times. Participants will have access to Know Your Rights information, immigration resources, and the opportunity to connect with organizations collaborating with our campaign, LAUSD 2025: We Are One.

School Enrollment, Placement & Assessment (SEPA) Centers
The primary purpose of the SEPA Center is to accelerate and facilitate the enrollment and adaptation into school for newly arriving and continuing students attending L.A. Unified schools. The center's services also include assisting schools across the District by providing consultation and advocacy for families. The SEPA Center is staffed by a multidisciplinary Student Health and Human Services team, including a Pupil Services & Attendance (PSA) Counselor, Psychiatric Social Worker (PSW), School Nurse/Nurse Practitioner, Health Insurance Advocate, and Interpreter Aides.

Wellness Centers
L.A. Unified Wellness Centers integrate and coordinate care for students and their families on school campuses throughout the District. Wellness Centers are L.A. Unified-built facilities staffed by outside medical providers/partners who focus on prevention, education, early intervention, and screening.

Psychological First Aid (PFA)* is an evidence-informed approach for assisting children, adolescents, adults, and families in the immediate aftermath of a stressful life event, such as a disaster, school crisis, or emergency. PFA is designed to reduce the initial distress caused by traumatic events and to foster short and long-term adaptive functioning.
