AP Readiness (APR) provides rigorous, supplemental instructional support to current and potential Advanced Placement (AP) students and teachers for AP STEM and AP Humanities courses. See list of AP Readiness course-specific sessions on the right of this page. AP Readiness flyer
AP Readiness is available to all LAUSD high school students. Students and teachers learn side-by-side with their peers from throughout the district. Students receive 32 hours of rigorous, course-specific supplemental instructional support and receive information regarding college applications and financial aid. Students who attend four or more APR sessions earn rewards including study guides, back packs and certificates.
Concurrently, the AP Readiness program offers comprehensive and high level professional development for current and potential teachers of AP courses. AP teachers involved in APR will have ongoing opportunities to:
- Access supplemental AP materials and resources
- Engage in course-specific professional learning that includes observing and interacting with master teachers, regarding best practices and rigorous AP instruction
UCLA Center X provides a stipend and recognition to all teachers that complete program requirements.
AP Readiness sessions are held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., one Saturday a month (September to April) at UCLA. Registration for teachers and students is available at www.uclaapr.org. Teachers and students need to register only once for the 2022-2023 academic year. Students who plan to attend both the STEM and Humanities sessions must register for each strand separately. There is no cap on enrollment.
