Foreign Student Admissions OfficeThe Foreign Student Admissions Office (FSAO) strives to enrich the educational environment of the LAUSD by supporting and advancing the recruitment, admission, and enrollment of eligible international students on both F1 and J1 visas into LAUSD high schools.
UPDATE (as of April 19, 2024)
We are pleased to announce that the LAUSD will resume admissions for J-1 Exchange Students in the Fall of 2024. This update applies only to international/foreign students on J-1 Exchange Visas. At this time, the District has not re-opened admissions for F-1 Visa Students.
The admissions process has been updated and all sponsoring organizations are required to obtain prior District approval. As part of that process, all sponsoring organization must have a fully executed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on file with the District in order to submit student applications. High School Enrollment/Acceptance forms will be signed by the Foreign Student Admissions Office (FSAO) following verification of MOU status and consultation with school site and region administrators.
If you are interested in studying in the U.S. on an F-1 Student Visa, the LAUSD will provide updates regarding F-1 admissions as information is available. Any updates will be posted to this site.
