Cohort 1 Year 2: Program Development
Building on our work in year 1 and in preparation for year 3, this activity asks participants to give feedback on the following:
1. How best to measure Contributions to School Community?
2. How to tailor the Framework to the needs of Non-Classroom Certificated staff?
3. How do we tie together Total Effectiveness Result and Differentiated Compensation?Depending on your group’s interests, you can address any or all of the questions. For each of the questions, instead of reinventing the wheel, we will present current models in use at other districts and consider feedback collected from last year’s activities. Also, the Teaching and Learning Framework will be the backbone to discussions around these questions.
- Step 1: Form a group of 5-8 people and distribute Program Development activity guide (updated March 13, 2012)
- Step 2: In the first meeting, review the activity guide and decide on the question(s) your group wants to discuss. Schedule dates for future meetings, and decide on the conveners. Everyone should take a turn at leading a meeting.
- Step 3: Before the second meeting, the convener should prepare discussion questions and sign-in sheets, and bring a laptop or notepad for recording feedback.
- Step 4: During the second meeting, you can follow the suggested structure described in the activity guide, or create your own agenda.
- Step 5: Convener records feedback and submits it through the online form (please click here).
- Step 6: If necessary, repeat the above steps for the other questions.
