- Transition to 100% clean, renewable energy in our electricity sector by 2030 and in all energy sectors by 2040

14% Non-renewable Energy Use Decrease for FY 2023-2024
*Due to the COVID pandemic, LAUSD began running ventilation systems 24/7 to protect student and staff health. Before the pandemic, the District saw a 15% decrease in electricity use and a 5% decrease in natural gas use.

Water Stewardship Goals:
- Reduce water consumption by 20% from FY 2013-2014 baseline by FY 2023-2024
- Reduce the amount of potable water for non-potable use
- Reduce groundwater pollution and replenish underground aquifers

28% Water Use Reduction for FY 2023-2024
Since FY 2013-14, LAUSD has conserved 3,785,053,107 gallons of drinking water, which is enough water to fill over 7,724 Olympic-sized swimming pools.

- Ensure a safe, healthy, and comfortable learning environment in energy and water efficient schools working with Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)

78,537 MTCO2e (a measure of GHG emissions) were emitted in FY 2023-2024
23% decrease in GHG emissions in FY 2023-2024 from FY 2018-2019 baseline*
*Due to COVID pandemic, the District ran ventilation systems 24/7 to help protect the health of students and staff. Prior to this pandemic period, the District saw a 24% decrease in emissions.
