TGI Part-Time Mentor (PTM) Information and Resource Page

The TGI program, part of LAUSD, provides a tuition-free induction program designed to assist new teachers with preliminary credentials in obtaining a recommendation for the California Clear Multiple Subject or Single Subject Credential. As a part-time mentor in the TGI program, you will provide customized support to candidate teachers as they progress through their induction process and ensure they meet state guidelines and requirements. Through engaging in reflective mentoring, mentors will deliver tailored guidance to enhance candidate skills and elevate their proficiency in the California Standards of the Teaching Profession.

Part-Time Mentor Eligibility
Thank you for your interest in mentoring for the Teacher Growth & Induction (TGI) Program. To qualify as a mentor for TGI, you must meet the following criteria:

Be an eligible NBC Teacher for compensation purposes.

Hold a general education multiple or single subject credential, along with any additional authorizations.
If you're interested in becoming a Part-Time Mentor for the 2025-26 school year, please complete the application.
NOTE All NBCTs mentoring in LAUSD must adhere to the Teacher Development and Support (TDAS) Branch regarding mentor requirements.
