• Reimbursements & Financial Assistance

  • STEP UP and TEACH members may receive up to $8,000 annually and BOOST members may receive up to $4,500 annually in financial assistance for education and credential related expenses. Financial assistance is provided as reimbursement for out-of-pocket or direct pay expenses, including expenditures paid through a student loan. Except when indicated, expenses covered by a scholarship, grant or fee waiver are not reimbursable. Approved reimbursement funds are paid through the member's pay warrant. Please allow 6-8 weeks for processing and disbursement.

    To qualify for tuition and/or textbook reimbursement, all coursework must be completed at a regionally accredited college or university. Tuition will be reimbursed for courses passed with a grade of B- or better. The reimbursable amount is calculated by qualifying semester units and enrollment type (see chart below).

    Requests for tuition and textbook reimbursements are made by submitting the appropriate reimbursement request form along with all required documentation within 3 months of course completion or grade posting. 
     
     
     
     
    Acceptable forms of reimbursement documentation include:
    • Textbook receipts with course syllabus
    • Unofficial transcripts or grade reports
    • Parking receipts
    • Financial aid/tuition fee statements
    • Technology receipts
    • Test/Exam fee receipts
