    American Red Cross: Offers general disaster preparedness information, courses, and assistance to those recovering from a disaster.

    The Great California Shakeout: holds a statewide annual earthquake drill and offers earthquake preparedness information.

    NOAA: The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration offers tsunami information, as well as information about some other weather-related emergencies.

    NFPA: The National Fire Protection Association offers fire prevention tips and safety information.

    Ready.gov: Offers planning tools and tips on disaster preparedness for many populations.

    Drop, Cover and Hold On: The Earthquake Country Alliance gives excellent information about how to protect yourself during an earthquake and why certain protective measures are recommended and others are not advised. This page includes an explanation of the dangers of using the so-called "Triangle of Life".

    REMS TA Center: The Readiness and Emergency Management for Schools Technical Assistance Center provides emergency management assistance and resources for schools and school districts. Established through the US Department of Education's Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools.

    School Emergency Management Online Courses: FREE US Dept. of Ed. courses  such as "Bereavement at Schools" and "Emergency Management Considerations for Staff and Students with Disabilities". Also includes a series of courses in the foundations of school emergency management.

    Dept. of Ed Emergency Planning page: This page provides information that can help school leaders plan for any emergency, including natural disasters, violent incidents and terrorist acts.

    LAUSD Parent Emergency Information website: Includes information for parents about a variety of school emergencies, what the school's response to that emergency is, and what parents should do in the event of an emergency at their child's school. Information is available in multiple languages.
