An Evac+Chair can be requested for multiple story schools that have students who use wheelchairs or walkers and attend classes above the ground floor. The online training course (on the Learning Zone) STEPS 210 "Assisting Students with Special Needs during an Emergency" must be completed by several staff members before an Evac+ Chair and the required hands-on training is delivered. A Rescue Seat may also be requested.

A generator is provided to schools that have students who use a ventilator to provide emergency charging power for the ventilator battery. The owner's manual and videos showing how to operate and maintain a Honda eu1000i generator are available at http://powerequipment.honda.com/generators/models/eu1000i.

A one-hour presentation is available: "Assisting Students with Disabilities in an Emergency". Topics include a variety of evacuation techniques and other emergency considerations. This topic is also now available as a four-hour workshop.

The LAUSD Emergency Preparedness for Students with Disabilities Tips and Checklist is designed to help schools plan for the disaster needs of students with a variety of disabilities and types of support.
