The Los Angeles Unified School District is committed to work in partnership with the entire community to assure equity and provide services, opportunities and leadership necessary to establish and maintain quality high school athletic programs. The coaches, administrators and staff int he schools and offices believe in the equal worth and dignity of all students. As the governing body for high school athletics, the Los Angeles Unified School District Interscholastic Athletic Department in conjunction with the CIF, is responsible for establishing a climate which

♦ Fosters the partnership between academics and athletics.
♦ Promotes the value of high school athletics.
♦ Assures that everyone involved with CIF activities is treated with dignity and respect.
♦ Encourages collaboration with the Superintendent, the Board of Education and member schools.
