Welcome to CGDC Content Curation Corner!
At this site you will find all that you need to get you started with the curation process. Curation means to review and organize, and we are asking for your help with that for a variety of online courses that we have that we want to make available for all of LAUSD’s classified employees.
Background
The Personnel Commission has a contract with Skillsoft, a leading eLearning provider.There are several hundred online courses that we will make available for classified employee growth and development.To make access easier, Personnel Commission staff has aligned a few hundred of the courses to the competencies found in the Classified Performance Framework, but there are several hundred additional courses that the Personnel Commission does not have the capacity to curate in a timely manner.Consequently, we are seeking assistance with the curation process.Benefits to the Employee
▪ Paid professional development ($25/hour per course based on expected duration of course) – employees may select from the library of available courses.
▪ Certificate of completion for all courses.
▪ Partnership with the Personnel Commission in building the resources for classified staff growth and development.Curator Requirements
Interested employee must complete an application and meet the following requirements:
▪ a minimum of two consecutive years as a regular employee with the District,
▪ no discipline (suspension, demotion or separation) within the last 3 years,
▪ 96% attendance rate for the last school year and through the first quarter of this school year,
▪ willingness to access online courses during off work hours, and
▪ access to a computer – all courses are online.What To Do
Step 1
Complete the application – you can access it here. We will verify the information that you provide and will contact you if we have any questions within a week of receipt. Otherwise you can assume your application has been received and accepted.
Step 2
Review the Classified Performance Framework.For assistance and suggestions, you can review the Classified Performance Framework Resource Guide.You may proceed to this step, and the next one, as soon as you have submitted your application.
Step 3
Complete the Framework Quiz – you will also receive an e-mail with a link to this quiz once you have submitted your application.
Step 4
Once you have scored 100% on the Framework Quiz and have submitted it, you may begin curating courses. Select your top 3 choices of courses and send that list, including course number to cgdc@lausd.net. Following are the available courses for curation:- 1.0 Hour Courses

Step 5
We will make a course available, based on your preferences and whether others have requested the same course, and will notify you of the course that we have made available to you via e-mail (from cgdc@lausd.net). The e-mail will contain instructions for accessing the course.It will also contain the deadline by which you need to complete the course.
Step 6
Take the course pre-assessment prior to starting the course.
Step 7
Complete the entire course (view all pages and sections).
Step 8
Take the course post-assessment when you have completed the course and obtain 80% or better and higher than your pre-assessment score (the course can be retaken if the score is not high enough).
Step 9
Complete the Curation questionnaire that categorizes the course based on competencies, audience, etc.
Step 10
Repeat from Step 4 as many times as you like, or until all courses have been curated.
