The Aspiring Principals Program (APP) and Aspiring Assistant Principals Program (AAPP) are cohort-based professional development programs for District employees who aspire to assume the respective role of principal or assistant principal. The programs are designed to provide participants with a series of targeted sessions aligned to the LAUSD School Leadership Framework in the areas of instructional and operational leadership. APP participants build their leadership capacity through extensive practice using multiple sources of data to analyze school context and to develop an entry-plan for assuming the role of principal. AAPP participants build their leadership capacity through self-reflection, group discussions, seminars, and performance assignments.
