Beware of New 'Phishing' Scams

May 25, 2021 – In the past few days, students may have received an email offering them a pet-sitting job. Please know this is a scam! It was sent by a compromised LAUSD account and is an attempt to gather private information that could be used to steal someone's identity, a cyber crime commonly known as 'phishing.' 

If a student replies to the email, their message will not go through, and IT Security will automatically be notified. We will send an email back to the student to alert them of the scam and ask them to contact their principal or teacher with any questions.
