Clear Desk Policy

Now that all LAUSD employees are working in-person at offices and schools, please keep these reminders in mind to keep a secure work area and prevent information theft:

• Lock your computer anytime you walk away from your desk
• Don’t write down passwords where they are clearly visible, such as on post-it notes
• Keep protected documents and external drives stored in a locked cabinet while away from your desk
• Pick up documents with protected information from printers ASAP
• When using shared meeting spaces, remove protected information from whiteboards and tables before leaving the room
• At home, don’t let members of your household have access to your work computer
