The Legacy Replacement Program (LRP) is a massive overhaul of the District’s finance and procurement systems—Integrated Financial System (IFS)—that have been supporting purchasing and accounting functionality since the early 1990s.
The Integrated Financial System (IFS), our "legacy system", is an aging system that is no longer supported by its manufacturer and cannot support the demands of an enterprise as large as LAUSD. The system runs on unsupported equipment with unsupported software and creates serious risk of loss of financial data and accounting errors each day it continues to be operated.
Investment in a modernized system that runs on Systems Applications and Products (SAP) software will enable the District to move to a more modern and robust accounting and purchasing system, ultimately saving millions of dollars in resources annually. Because the manufacturer supports this modern system, the District will no longer face the serious risks it faces today with IFS. The new SAP functionality will be rolled out to offices and 4% of schools in July 2013 and rollouts 2-4 to all schools will occur at the end of 2013 through the middle of 2014.
