Summative SBAC Resources

  • Smarter Balanced is a new standardized assessment designed to align with the new Common Core State Standards (CCSS) that have been adopted by the state of California. This test will be replacing the California Standards Test (CST). Unlike the CST, the Smarter Balanced Assessments will be administered online and will use computer adaptive testing technologies and go beyond multiple-choice questions to include extended response and technology enhanced items, as well as performance tasks that allow students to demonstrate critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
