Mission Statement
Student Records and Data Management’s (SRDM) objective is to communicate effectively with authorized internal and external community to provide accurate and informative feedback pertaining to student record data for authorized requesters’ use. In doing so, we align branch goals to the division’s mission of providing informative student demographic and achievement data that will support the instructional and operational practices of the Los Angeles Unified School District.
Student Records Center (SRC)
The Student Record Center is one of two units composing the Student Records and Data Management Branch. The unit supervisor and staff provide customer service through engagement and communication with former students, district offices, and authorized third-party requesters seeking historical student record documentation. The team collaborates internally with branch staff and other offices to identify, research, troubleshoot, and review all records and reports prior to the release of confidential student record information.

Data Verification and Processing (DVP)
The Data Verification and Processing Unit is the second of two units that comprise the Student Records and Data Management Branch. Staff, led by the unit supervisor, communicates with schools to facilitate the transfer of student cumulative records upon their inspection and expiration of the timeline student records are to be stored on school campuses as identified in the student cumulative record handbook for elementary or secondary schools. Records are scrutinized in preparation for four stages of digitization. This team also collaborates with internal branch/division staff and other district divisions in the collection, analysis, and reporting of student data related to district-wide paper submissions for campaigns such as Household Income Forms, Choices, and other program initiatives.
