Asset Management's FAQs
-
I’ve been designated as an Instructional Device Manager (IDM), what steps do I need to follow?
-
My school has an IDM already, can we have more than one?
Yes. Schools can designate more than one IDM.
-
I need to access Remedy, what is the website?
-
I’m receiving an error when checking in or checking out, what do I do?
- The device does not exist in Remedy (usually school purchased items). To check, please follow Section 11 . If device does not appear, please following Section 13 to add computing device(s)
- Device needs to be checked in first. In order to check out devices, the status of the devices needs to be “in inventory” or else the system will reject it. You may check the status by referring to Section 11 or generating an Assets Deployed Report. To check in, please follow Section 4: Receive Device and Place In Inventory.
- When inputting the asset tag and/or student/employee ID, press the enter key and the information should populate in the table. If using the scanner, the data should populate on its own
-
I want a report, where do I go?
-
I see different statuses in my reports, what do they mean?
- In Inventory - Device is checked in and at your school
- Deployed and status reason checked out- Device is checked out to a student or employee
- Transferred, Received, Deployed, and status reason blank - Device is assigned to site, but not placed in inventory
-
I moved sites, but I've been designated as the IDM at my new location. Do I need to take the training again?
No. You may submit a ticket to have your access updated.
-
Can we use a scanner to input the asset tag?
Yes. You may use the scanner in your library, if you have one, or you may use any barcode scanner.
We recommend the one below for purchase:
