Robert Pelayo is an experienced IT project manager focused on improving student achievement and augmenting impactful changes through efficiency, technology, and forward-thinking. He is a technology enthusiast with experience in project management, change management, business process analysis, and project implementation. His primary goal is to align technology with business needs that support instructional, compliance, and operational needs and requirements for all of LAUSD.
Robert has a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development from the University of California Davis and a Master’s in Education from Long Beach State University. He started his career with LA Unified as an elementary teacher before becoming a Magnet School and Master Plan programs coordinator. He then joined the Office of Data and Accountability as a Subject Matter Expert. He transitioned to the System Administrator role for the ISIS application, SchoolMAX, where he provided support to K-12 schools. As a MiSiS Manager, he worked with business owners and school users, through feedback collected by the Training and Organizational Change Management teams, to ensure their needs were met, while also meeting requirements per the Modified Consent Decree. Robert currently works with the MiSiS Help Desk, Functional Team Leads, Developers, and Subject Matter Experts, as well as other technical support staff to oversee the development, quality assurance, testing, maintenance, and support of the MiSiS application. Robert continues to support all schools by participating in various other projects and initiatives related to student information systems and applications.
