The District oversees a diverse portfolio of charter schools, that includes District schools that convert to charter status.
Although by law, a charter school is considered a Local Education Agency and assumes full responsibilitiy for the entire operation of what is essentially a school district, the facilities remain District property and therefore may be subject to Co - Location via Prop. 39, PSC or any other mechasinsm the District uses for facilities allocation.
Unique situations like these exist where a conversion charter school is, or may have in the past, been Co - Located with other District programs or other independent charter school(s):
