Stakeholder Feedback
The EDST process also provides an opportunity for teachers to receive student feedback to inform ongoing professional growth and development using an optional survey. The Stakeholder Feedback Survey (SFS) is administered online once per year in the late fall to students in grades 3-12 of teachers participating in EDST. Confidential results reports are made available for teachers in the spring semester. Principals will only see school-wide summary reports if six or more teachers administered the surveys to their students.
The SFS was designed to collect student feedback on key aspects of a classroom’s instructional environment, such as academic rigor, academic support, student engagement, and emotional support, which have been linked to students’ behavioral and academic outcomes. All survey questions are aligned to elements on the LAUSD’s Teaching and Learning Framework. Students respond to each of the items on the survey using a five-point agreement scale (click to view the 2015-2016 Elementary and Secondary surveys): Strongly Agree, Agree, Neither Agree Nor Disagree, Disagree, Strongly Disagree.
