The Los Angeles Unified School District offers a number of Advanced Learning Options for students including the Advanced Placement, Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID), GEAR UP 4 LA, Gifted/Talented Programs (GATE), and International Baccalaureate (IB). The purpose of each District Advanced Learning Options program is to widen access to educational opportunities, increase student academic performance and enhance college and career readiness and success.
