Participate in the LAUSD Region Parent Advisory Committee Elections

Division of Special Education is hosting a series of Resource FairsWe invite all LAUSD parents and families to participate in the Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) Elections! The PAC provides parents with an opportunity to share their perspectives, ask questions, provide input, and make recommendations on the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). Elections will be held over Zoom. Join the election by clicking on the link to your Region to vote, self-nominate, or be nominated:

Give Your Child a Healthy Start:  Services at LAUSD Health Fairs

Division of Special Education is hosting a series of Resource FairsLAUSD families, join us at the Health Screening Fair! Your child can receive several services in one visit. Services may include: Sports Physicals, Vision Care, Dental Screenings & Fluoride, Well-Child Exams, Childhood & Flu Vaccines, and more. The Health Screening Fair is open to all LAUSD students.  Some providers may bill insurance.  Pre-Registration required at: BIT.LY/LAUSDHEALTHSCREENS

Every HIF Counts: Help Your Child’s School Get the Support It Deserves

Division of Special Education is hosting a series of Resource FairsHelp support your child's school by completing the Household Income Form (HIF) at https://hif.lausd.net. Every eligible HIF helps schools qualify for critical funding that supports students, teachers, programs, and services. Even if you think you may not qualify, we encourage all families to submit a Household Income Form.

Supporting Focused Learning: LAUSD Student Screen Time Policy

Division of Special Education is hosting a series of Resource FairsThe District is committed to helping students stay focused, engaged, and ready to learn. Digital devices can support learning when used for classwork and other school activities. During the school day, the usage of digital devices will be limited to help reduce distractions and keep students focused on learning.

We Are One: Empowering Families with Preparedness and Support

Division of Special Education is hosting a series of Resource FairsWe encourage families to make a preparedness plan.  Having a family plan helps to protect your family and be prepared by identifying a trusted caregiver who can care for your children in case of an emergency.  Visit weareone.lausd.org to learn more about the Family Preparedness Care Package and other valuable resources that are readily available.  
 
The District will continue to support students’ right to a public education and be a place of support and resources for students and families, regardless of immigration status and any other protected groups, consistent with the District’s Nondiscrimination Policy. Additionally, the Los Angeles Unified Family Hotline will continue to receive calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 213-443-1300.

Help Shape the Future of Community-Based Safety Programs at LAUSD

Division of Special Education is hosting a series of Resource FairsStarting on August 12th, LAUSD is conducting a Community-Based Safety Programs Survey to hear from staff, students, families, and community members about current school safety practices. Your input will help inform the District’s community-based safety planning efforts.  Please complete the district-wide survey between August 12th and September 2nd.

Give Your Child More Opportunities to Learn, Grow & Thrive: Enroll in Beyond the Bell Today!

Division of Special Education is hosting a series of Resource FairsLooking for before or after school care and enrichment for your child? Beyond the Bell offers expanded learning programs that support students’ academic, social-emotional, and physical development through meaningful and engaging learning experiences based on student interests.
 
To enroll, families must complete and submit a Before- and After-School Program Application to the Site Lead at their child’s school.

Be Ready for a Successful School Year: Review the 2026-27 Parent Student Handbook

Division of Special Education is hosting a series of Resource FairsThe 2026-27 Parent Student Handbook is available through the Parent Portal, where families can view, download, and complete the supplemental forms electronically. The handbook is also available on the Division of School Operations website.  
 
We invite all families to review the Handbook together with their child. It includes important information about District policies, student expectations, rights, responsibilities, and resources to help support a successful school year.

Division of Special Education is hosting a series of Resource FairsLAUSD continues to prioritize the safety and well-being of students, staff, and families impacted by the Lineage Warehouse Fire. Start Strong Together: Explore the Family Academy’s August Workshops!

Division of Special Education is hosting a series of Resource FairsStart the new school year informed, connected, and ready for success with the Family Academy August Course Catalogues! Discover a variety of free virtual, in-person, and hybrid workshops designed to help families support student learning, navigate District programs and services, promote student wellness, and strengthen partnerships with schools.
