LOS ANGELES (June 12, 2026) — As the 2025–26 school year has come to a close, Los Angeles Unified is reflecting on and celebrating the resilience, achievements, and bright futures of its students across the District.
“Even in a year that brought real challenges, our students showed extraordinary resilience and determination,” Acting Superintendent Andrés E. Chait said. “We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and even more excited about what lies ahead for them. Their success is a reflection of their hard work, the support of their families, and the dedication of educators across our District.”
This year marks a significant milestone for graduates across Los Angeles Unified. More than 26,000 students from adult education programs, magnet schools, continuation schools, and traditional high schools completed their educational journeys and are taking their next steps to community colleges, colleges and universities, trade schools, or entering the workforce. Each pathway reflects the diverse goals, talents, and aspirations of Los Angeles Unified students.
Throughout the year, students rose to meet challenges with determination, perseverance, and a commitment to their learning and one another. In classrooms, on campuses, and across communities, students demonstrated what is possible when they are supported, engaged, and empowered.
Los Angeles Unified students achieved some of the strongest academic outcomes in District history, with continued gains in reading, math, and science, increased participation and success in Advanced Placement courses, and nationwide magnet honors.
Student success extended far beyond the classroom. Across the District, students earned national recognition as scholarship semifinalists, led award-winning robotics teams, and excelled in journalism, music, culinary arts, and science competitions. On athletic fields and through student-led initiatives, young leaders emerged, demonstrating creativity, collaboration, and a deep commitment to their communities.
Throughout the year, the District continued expanding opportunities designed to support student success and well-being. Initiatives such as One Enrollment, expanded early education programs, financial literacy and economic justice curriculum, and community-centered safety efforts have helped ensure that every student has access to the resources they need to thrive.
As Los Angeles Unified looks ahead, District leaders acknowledge that the coming year will require difficult decisions to address financial realities. However, the focus remains clear: protecting students, preserving opportunities, and continuing to provide a high-quality, inclusive education for every child.
Los Angeles Unified thanks its students, families, educators, and staff for an extraordinary year and celebrates a generation of students ready to shape the future.
