KLCS Earns Multiple Telly Awards, Marking Station’s Most Decorated Year In Recent Memory

LOS ANGELES — KLCS Public Media, the award-winning public television station operated by the Los Angeles Unified School District, has earned multiple honors in the 47th Annual Telly Awards, marking one of the station’s strongest years in recent memory and underscoring its continued excellence in storytelling, educational programming and public service media..

The internationally recognized Telly Awards honor outstanding video and television content across all screens and platforms, with more than 13,000 entries submitted this year from around the world.

KLCS, a PBS member station that’s supported through the generosity of its members and donors,  received recognition across a wide range of categories, including documentary filmmaking, education, sustainability, arts and culture, diversity and inclusion, and public interest storytelling.

“This extraordinary recognition speaks to the creativity and professionalism of the KLCS team and their commitment to telling stories that reflect the richness and diversity of Los Angeles,” said Acting Superintendent Andrés Chait. “From student achievement and arts education to public service and community impact, these productions highlight the meaningful work happening every day across our District.”

“This has been a landmark year for KLCS,” said Jaime Jiménez, General Manager of KLCS Public Media. “To receive nine Telly Awards across such a wide range of categories is a tremendous honor and a reflection of the passion our producers, editors, storytellers and District collaborators bring to this work. We are proud to create content that resonates with audiences while uplifting the voices of our school communities.”

Several award-winning projects were produced in collaboration with Los Angeles Unified departments and community partners, including the Arts Education Branch, Food Services Division, Homeless Education Office and the LA Unified Education Foundation. KLCS staff also collaborated on the Gold Telly-winning “OC World/Early IMAX Cameras” social media piece by providing field production support and cinematography.
