LAUSD Reaches Tentative Agreement on 2024–2027 Collective Bargaining Agreement with Teamsters Local 572

LOS ANGELES (Jan. 27, 2026) — Los Angeles Unified is pleased to announce that the District has reached a tentative agreement on the 2024 through 2027 collective bargaining agreement with Teamsters Local 572, representing more than 3,200 classified supervisors such as school administrative assistants, food services managers, and plant managers. This agreement is subject to ratification by union members and approval by the Board of Education.

“Our classified staff is essential to the daily operation and success of our schools, from keeping campuses safe and welcoming to ensuring students and families receive the support they need,” Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho said. “This tentative agreement reflects our deep respect for their work and our commitment to fairly compensating them, while also upholding our responsibility to maintain long-term financial stability for the District. We value our partnership with Teamsters Local 572 and appreciate the collaborative spirit that made this agreement possible.”

The tentative agreement includes a 13 percent wage increase over three years, with a 6 percent retroactive increase in 2024–25, a 4 percent increase in 2025–26, and a 3 percent increase in 2026–27. In addition to salary increases, the agreement provides enhancements to longevity pay, bilingual differentials, vacation accruals, and attendance incentives.

“This tentative agreement is the result of our members’ dedication and the collective strength of classified supervisors who keep Los Angeles Unified schools running every day,” Adriana Salazar, President of Teamsters Local 572 said. “We are proud to have secured meaningful wage increases and improvements that recognize the experience, skills, and commitment of our members. We appreciate the collaborative efforts that led to this agreement and look forward to continuing our partnership with the District in support of our schools and communities.”

This agreement reflects the District’s commitment to and recognition of the important contributions of classified supervisors while maintaining fiscal responsibility and supporting the long-term stability of our schools.

Los Angeles Unified values its partnership with Teamsters 572 and looks forward to continuing to work collaboratively to support students, families, and staff. Additional details will be shared following ratification and Board consideration.

“I want to congratulate the Teamsters 572 and District negotiating teams for reaching an agreement today,” Board President Scott Schmerelson said. “I know this work is not easy, but when a shared commitment to the employees, students and the families of our District drives the conversation, everyone wins!”

"The district values the essential work our committed LAUSD workers do every day,” Board Vice President Rocío Rivas said. “I appreciate the partnership of Teamsters 572 and our District teams in reaching this tentative agreement."

"I applaud the tentative agreement reached with the District and Teamsters Local 572," Board Member Sherlett Hendy Newbill said. "This agreement embodies what is possible when the values of collaboration and partnership are kept front and center during negotiations."

“I’m grateful to the valued members of our Teamsters union—from Plant Managers to Food Service Managers, Area Operations Supervisors, SAAs, and others—whose leadership is essential to keeping our campuses safe, clean, and well-managed,” Board Member Nick Melvoin said. “I’ve seen firsthand how much students, families, and staff rely on the steady, skilled work that keeps our schools running smoothly, and I’m glad to have reached a deal that honors that work with a well-deserved pay increase.”

“Our Teamsters 572 staff are critical to our support of students, the running of our schools, and our success as a school district,” Board Member Kelly Gonez said. “I’m glad to reach an agreement that invests in these workers and reflects the important work they do at Los Angeles Unified.”
