Update from Los Angeles Unified

Today the Los Angeles Unified School District and its labor partners reached a two-year tentative agreement to continue providing the gold standard of health benefits for active employees and retirees — at no additional cost to participants. This tentative agreement, subject to ratification by the Board of Education later this month, includes a commitment to equity, and explores how the District can enhance benefits in the areas of increased mental health benefits and wellness programs. The District takes seriously its responsibility to provide excellent health and welfare benefits and we thank our labor partners for their collaboration.

“Los Angeles Unified believes in providing the best health and welfare benefits for our workforce and retirees. We are grateful for our labor partners and their collaboration during the negotiation process. We will continue establishing the national standard for how employees deserve to be compensated.” –– Los Angeles Unified Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho and Los Angeles Unified Board President Jackie Goldberg
