Los Angeles Unified Board of Education Approves Amended 2017-2020 Local Control and Accountability Plan
Today, the Los Angeles Unified School Board of Education approved the amended 2017-2020 Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP), which includes feedback from the Los Angeles County Office of Education, public advocates and other stakeholders. These changes are all intended to provide more transparency and information to the public.
Superintendent Austin Beutner commented: “Los Angeles Unified is committed to improving the transparency of all we do. As we look forward and begin preparing the 2020-23 LCAP, we intend to increase the voice of the local communities we serve in the LCAP. Los Angeles Unified serves students in almost 1,400 schools across 700 square miles. The needs and opportunities at each of these schools are different and our goal is to make sure they are addressed with specific actions and specific funding in the LCAP.”
The next plan, the 2020-2023 LCAP, will be presented to the Board in June 2020.
