On the U.S. Supreme Court DACA ruling
The ruling of the Supreme Court today is a major victory for our DACA recipients and for our local communities who are already relying on the contributions and leadership of our Dreamers!
We are relieved and beyond thankful for the decision made by the Court today that affirms our Dreamers ability to live without fear of deportation and the ability to access education, healthcare and employment. Dreamers, who were brought to this country as children, have built a life in the United States and will continue to support our economy and democratic values. It is gratifying to know that the passion, persistence and hard work that paved the way for this Court decision, will continue to be an inspirational presence in our schools, workplaces and communities.
Going forward, our work is cut out for us. We must be able to turn to an executive administration and congress that we can trust to permanently resolve the status of our Dreamers and provide a path to citizenship.
