LAUSD Board District 7 is excited to host its fourth College Signing Day to celebrate our wonderful seniors and scholars!
Join us as we bring together Board District 7 scholars of all ages, parents, educators, school-site staff, and community partners to celebrate our senior’s post-secondary-plans, and take part in college awareness activities to inspire our scholars to pursue their college and career aspirations.
How can I become a College Signing Day Sponsor?
If you would like to sponsor our College Signing Day Event, please fill out the form below and a representative will contact you. As a sponsor, you will be recognized and promoted to an anticipated audience of over 80,000 students who reside in the Board District 7 communities of South Los Angeles, Watts, Florence-Firestone, Gardena, Carson, Lomita, Harbor City, Wilmington, and San Pedro. Your donation will positively impact these deserving students by helping to cover the cost of their lunch, student recognition, transportation, giveaways and event materials.
What is College Signing Day?
Los Angeles Unified School District Board Member Tanya Ortiz Franklin is hosting a College Signing Day event to celebrate our graduating seniors who have made the commitment to continue their education in college and encourage all students and families to get excited about colleges and careers. Former First Lady Michelle Obama started celebrating College Signing Day at the White House as part of her Reach Higher Initiative and Board District 7 is so excited to keep the tradition going. Celebrating our seniors' success means more than a party; it means they know we are proud of their hard work, invested in their future, and excited to see what they do next.
When is College Signing Day?
College Signing Day is on Saturday, April 27th, 2024 from 10 A.M. - 1 P.M.
Where will College Signing Day take place?
College Signing Day will take place at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH).
What type of events will I see at College Signing Day?
College Signing Day is a high-spirited celebration! This event includes a resource fair where students of all grade levels can meet college representatives to learn about offerings at their institutions and visit with community organizations who will share resources and opportunities. Our seniors will get the chance to announce their post-secondary plans in front of a large audience of fellow students, parents, staff and community members. Attendees will be able to participate in college tours of the CSUDH campus, games and college awareness activities.
How can I attend College Signing Day?
We would love for you to participate in our celebration by registering and attending our event. Our registration will go live in January 2024!
Is this event only for seniors?
No, this event is for students of ALL ages as well as their families. There will be activities from our youngest scholars to our high school seniors.
Is this event only for CSUDH students?
No, this event is for all students/seniors going to ANY university!
