Inclusive Schools Week (December 2-6, 2024)

Dear Parents and Families,

The Division of Special Education along with our district schools will be celebrating Inclusive Schools Week! This week is dedicated to fostering an environment where all students, regardless of their background or ability, feel valued and supported.

Inclusive Schools Week is a special time to reflect on the importance of inclusion in our classrooms and communities. It highlights the significance of welcoming diverse learners and celebrating the unique strengths each student brings. This initiative helps to promote respect, kindness, and understanding, encouraging a more empathetic and supportive school culture for everyone.

Throughout the week, students will participate in activities and lessons that emphasize:

  • Respect for Differences: Embracing diversity and learning from one another.
  • Equity in Education: Ensuring all students have the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.
  • Building Connections: Encouraging friendships and teamwork among all students.

We believe that inclusive education strengthens our community and prepares our children for a compassionate and interconnected world. Your support in promoting these values at home will help reinforce the message that every student belongs and has the right to learn and grow in a nurturing, inclusive environment.

¡La División de Educación Especial junto con las escuelas de nuestro distrito celebrarán la Semana de Escuelas Inclusivas! Esta semana está dedicada a fomentar un ambiente donde todos los estudiantes, independientemente de sus antecedentes o habilidades, se sientan valorados y apoyados.

La Semana de Escuelas Inclusivas es un momento especial para reflexionar sobre la importancia de la inclusión en nuestras aulas y comunidades. Destaca la importancia de dar la bienvenida a estudiantes diversos y celebrar las fortalezas únicas que aporta cada estudiante. Esta iniciativa ayuda a promover el respeto, la amabilidad y la comprensión, fomentando una cultura escolar más empática y solidaria para todos.

A lo largo de la semana, los estudiantes participarán en actividades y lecciones que enfatizan:

Respeto por las diferencias: aceptar la diversidad y aprender unos de otros.
Equidad en la educación: garantizar que todos los estudiantes tengan los recursos y las oportunidades que necesitan para tener éxito.
Construyendo conexiones: Fomentando amistades y trabajo en equipo entre todos los estudiantes.
