MESSAGE TO ALL SCHOOL PRINCIPALS RE: LCAP REQUIREMENTS

Message for School Principals re: LCAP  Parent Required Trainings

Dear Principals:

As explained in the Principals’ Brief, Principals are required to provide four academic trainings to their parents in order to meet one of the goals of the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP).  Certification of the trainings will be required.  The Certification can be on the Principal’s Portal under the Parent Community Student Services Certification page.  This page is already live on the Principal’s Portal.

Please be aware that two of the four trainings must be provided to parents before the end of February.  The two trainings that will be required by the end of February are changing Graduation Requirements and the School Report Card.  Presentation materials for LAUSD’s changing Graduation Requirements, the School Report Card and other trainings are provided by following this link,    https://www.lausd.org/site/default.aspx?PageID=7433      and clicking on “ALL: Schools Required to Provide Trainings to Parents,”  located towards the end of the page.

As you access the training materials for the two required topics identified above, you will also be able to access materials for optional topics which you may want to utilize to satisfy the entire LCAP requirement.  The remaining two trainings can be on a variety of topics.  The website provides optional topics/titles which can be chosen.  The trainings must be provided to parents before the end of the 2014-2015 school year.  Data will be collected for the LAUSD LCAP from the Principal’s Portal.

Should you need additional assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact the ISIC Parent, Family and Community Engagement Unit at (213) 241-1931.
