Supporting Digital Equity Through the National Educational Technology Plan

Every four years the United States Department of Education releases a new National Educational Technology Plan. This session brings together representatives from the Office of Educational Technology and the organizations working on the next National Educational Technology Plan to provide an update on the plan and solicit feedback from participants.

Digital Presence with Purpose

Gain insights into system-level policies and practices that support technology implementation with emphasis on creating an inclusive and equitable culture of digital citizenship. A digital presence framework will be highlighted and we'll explore ways to develop policies for an empowered use of technology.

Los Angeles Unified School District & Pear Deck — A Student-Centered Partnership

Discover how LAUSD partnered with Pear Deck to customize professional development and increase engagement, metacognition and active learning. Explore how together they built critical skills with students while supporting educators by equipping them with learning-science tools to improve efficacy. Specific lesson content and tools will be showcased.

Physical Computing: A Vehicle to Ground NGSS Modeling in Real-World Phenomena

Discover how students are using computer science (CS) to create scientific models to engage the community in real-world phenomena. See how these students are exploring CS tools such Tinkercad, Merge Cube and code.org to choose the best method to create a model to showcase.

Helping Students Thrive in a Digital World with AI, While Addressing SEL

Join ISTE/ASCD board members for this interactive session as we engage in a healthy dialogue sharing ways ISTE resources support students' social emotional learning, and how to create a positive and supportive learning environment. We will discuss ways we are utilizing AI in education, through authentic experiences that inspire educators and engage students to thrive in a digital world!

Three Actions to Move Education Forward From Three Districts Who’ve Done It

These award-winning panelists will share dynamic PD programs and successful initiatives that have impacted staff, students and/or community.

DYI-AI, Do-It-Yourself: Artificial Intelligence With and Without Coding

This presentation will explore artificial intelligence uses in the K-12 classroom with and without coding AI in machine learning, the arts, and physical computing with block coding. These three methods will help educators to get started with AI in any grade. AI additional resources will be provided.

Taking PBL Into the 21st Century by Integrating Engaging Technology

We'll share how project-based learning (PBL) works and why it's not only a great tool for increasing student engagement and learning, but can also be enhanced with innovative technology. We'll address integrating new and exciting technology into PBL 2.0.

Spark Your Creativity Through Game-Based Learning With Minecraft Education

Learners will be introduced to Minecraft: Education, a game-based learning platform building C+STEM skills, unleashing creativity and engaging students in collaboration and problem-solving. Participants will create builds within Minecraft: Education and identify ways Minecraft and CS concepts can be brought into the classroom.

Equity in Education: A Journey, Not a Destination

With these amazing leaders, we will explore the ongoing journey towards equity in education. Through discussion and sharing of experiences, we will gain a deeper understanding of the complexities of the equity journey and why it is truly NOT a destination.
