ED Announces FAFSA Workaround, Fix for Students from Mixed-Status Families

The US Department of Education committed to resolving 2024-25 FAFSA submission issues “in the first half of March” for students who have a contributor without a Social Security number. Attestation and Validation: FSA ID support for mixed-status families

As of January 27, the process for undocumented parents to obtain an FSA ID is still not functioning. As it is uncertain as to when the process will be functional, it is advisable to have the impacted parents to complete the attached Attestation and Validation of Identity Form as an alternative to the electronic process. (Note: as of 1/27, the form is only available in English. We have reached out to FSA about other languages, and will add to this file when available).
